Assisted DIY Packages
We are proud to work with Nevin "Pinky" Knowles & Long Island Bonefishing Lodge, located in the settlement of Deadman's Cay. This newly remodeled & comfortable lodge, with gorgeous views overlooking the water, is ideally situated for the DIY angler. The lodge offers Assisted DIY packages for anglers. You must arrive or depart on a Saturday.
The “assisted DIY” day consists of a guide picking up the guests at the lodge dock and transporting them by boat (3–15 minute ride) to a particular flat or set of flats where the guide will instruct the anglers on how to fish the particular flat. The guide will remain on or near the flat at all times, and guests will have walkie talkies so they can be in contact at all times, enabling them to change flats when they desire. An assisted DIY day can also be taken via truck, exploring the many beaches, creeks and canals also found on Long Island.
There are many great flats and beaches to fish for bonefish on Long Island, as well as canals that hold baby tarpon. The famous & beautiful Dean's blue hole is just a short drive away. There is also enough to do for the non-angler here, from swimming & snorkeling stunning beaches to visiting old, historic churches, and more.
Long Island Bonefishing Lodge is located on the west side of Long Island, where guests enjoy beautiful sunsets and views overlooking the bonefish flats in the distance. The Lodge is a wonderful place to spend a week exploring all that Long Island has to offer. The accommodations consist of two duplex style cottages with each side furnished for two fishermen. The rooms are comfortably furnished with two queen size beds, closet space and one bathroom. There are decks off of each cottage over looking the water with ample room to store all your gear. The dining room and bar is where you'll have your meals. Guests hang out in the lounge for cocktail hour, as well as the deck adjacent to the lounge, which is perched over the water and has stunning views!
Coffee is served at 6:30 each morning, and an American breakfast starts at 7:00am. Lunch consists of made to order sandwiches with snacks and drinks that are either packed for your day of exploring, or waiting for you when you meet up with the boat each day at noon. Dinners feature fresh lobster, grouper, snapper, conch, chops, chicken and more. Each entree is served in large portions with classic Bahamian fixings.
Assisted DIY Package for two persons $2300.00 per person
7 nights oceanfront lodging, 6 days of assisted DIY fishing via boat or truck (your choice), all meals & bottled water & taxes. You pay for your flights, any Nassau expenses, tips, soda & alcohol. Our info package is also included. Based on double occupancy.

*Prices are per person based upon double occupancy or single occupancy, as stated above. Packages at LIBL run Saturday to Saturday. Shorter & longer packages are available, but you must arrive or depart on a Saturday.
*Packages also includes tide charts; use of fishing map at the lodge with fishing locations highlighted, advice from lodge owner & Long Island native Nevin Knowles on where to fish, an informational flyer containing packing checklist, information for getting to the island; gear/equipment checklist and fly suggestions. Our information is designed to get you fishing in productive areas immediately, hastening the learning curve all anglers must go thru when fishing a new, unknown destination without guides. NOTE: a passport is required

*Please remember, Long island is a remote island paradise. Every effort will be made to provide of all of the amenities and services listed, but we urge you to be flexible and understanding during your stay. Packages at LIBL run Saturday to Saturday. Shorter & longer packages are available, but you must arrive or depart on a Saturday.
Terms and Conditions
A deposit of 50% is required within 15 days of booking to confirm a reservation. The balance is due 90 days prior to arrival. Deposit is refundable, less a $100 per person processing fee, if written cancellation is received at least 90 days prior to the trip. A 50% refund will be made to client if written cancellation is received 31-89 days prior to the trip, and no refund will be made if written cancellation is received 30 days or less prior to the trip, unless a substitute angler is found, in which case a full refund will be made less a $100 processing fee. In rare instances with cancellations inside of 90 days, we are able to issue credit to be used for a future trip to the same lodge. In this instance, there is a $200 per person processing fee. Credits are issued at the sole discretion of Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters LLC/CCO Fly Fishing LLC/Bahamas Bonefishing Adventures LLC. Receipt of deposit is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the cancellation/refund and responsibility clauses.
Because many deposits and final payments for trip packages may be non-refundable (see above,) it is highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance in the event that you have to cancel, postpone or reschedule your trip for any reason. This is the only way that we can assist you with compensation for a cancelled trip. Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters LLC/CCO Fly Fishing LLC/Bahamas Bonefishing Adventures LLC acts only as agents for contractors or owners and outfitters, airlines, charter air, and ground transportation carriers or other services. Payment of funds for fishing and other Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters trips shall be deemed acceptance and consent of the following conditions. Cattaraugus Creek Outfitters LLC/CCO Fly Fishing LLC/Bahamas Bonefishing Adventures LLC any of its affiliates or associated companies shall not be held liable for any loss or damages howsoever caused or arising from services provided by hotels or lodges, outfitters, guides, means of transportation or other services. Baggage and personal effects are the sole responsibility of the traveling client at all times.

"The operation is excellent and we much appreciated both Pinky and his colleague, Mark's presence and advice.
It is the best of both worlds - DIY with benefits. Immediately after breakfast, around 7.30, the fishermen leave for the flats in a Mitzi Skiff piloted by Nevin or Mark. The anglers are dropped off and, after some advice from Nevin, they are left to wade. The boat heads off in the wading direction and waits. This can be an hour or more. If fishing unproductive, the boat ferries you to a new location.
Prior to the hurricane, one person in each pair was issued with a walkie-talkie and Nevin would check in with us to see if we needed to move again. It was also useful for locating the boat which was often far off in the distance as Nevin could see us from his platform and guide us in. Everyone is returned to base around 1600.
As soon as you enter your cabin you know that you have arrived at a fishing lodge because above the handbasin in the bedroom, is a rod rack!
The catering is first class with full breakfast and packed lunches provided. Sodas and water are free and there is a bar tab for alcoholic drinks. Wifi is available."
